The overall design of The Tree House was initially meant to be a Cuban wine bar style, but as the project progressed it took on the life of a real tree house, thanks to interior designer, Ruth Harris of Redwa design and architect John Cochrane who worked alongside Sally McBeath, designer at Millfair.
"The materials sourced were all of an organic and earthy nature and we were always drawn to recycled timbers and textural finishes such as the old bricks. Old doors for the bathrooms and the front of the bar as well as the gorgeous shutters on the feature wall were sourced from recycled building material centres very early on so the bar and restaurant took shape around these key pieces. The service areas were all to include the colourful and bountiful feel of a deli style display,"
"Marnie and all the staff at Cafe Culture were fabulous. The website and showroom are stylish and extensive and the stock was available and delivered promptly. The project was smooth and painless with the help of all the team."
"North Sydney has long been suffering a personality crisis. It needed something fun and frivolous, colourful and out of the ordinary. "Sally McBeath
